Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, singer/songwriter Ryan Paul Davis blends traditional blues and folk music with poetic lyricism and imagery. Often pressing the boundaries of roots and blues genres, his songwriting is characteristically reflective, raw and emotive. Throughout his career, Davis has drawn a wide range of comparisons, from the rustic stylings of Robert Johnson to the intensity of Curt Cobain.
Relocated to rural Central Texas, Davis is more troubadour than recluse, regularly performing across the southern U.S. Typically armed with primitive foot percussion and custom-built guitars gifted from his father, he is best known for his gritty and soulful live performances. He has shared the stage with the likes of Gary Clark Jr., Samantha Fish, Bob Schneider, Ian Moore, Hubert Sumlin, and W.C. Clark among others. Davis has been featured in numerous southern festivals such as Austin’s SXSW Music Festival, the Texas Blueberry Festival, and The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. He produced his sixth commercial release, This Slender Thread (EP), in April 2022.

“The song ‘Undone’ is incredible. His voice gives me chills; you can hear the pain in his words and tone. This isn't some "emo" affectation designed by a record label to market to the legions of dispossessed youth hanging out at Hot Topic. This is real. I love how there is an extended pause between the plaintitive starkness of the verses before the drums kick in for the chorus. I got the same feeling upon hearing this that I did the first time I heard ‘Heart Shaped Box’ by Nirvana. Phenomenal.”
